Good sized venue in the heart of London. Drinks well-priced and funky loos and decor (in a good way). Good atmosphere on the night I went.

This used to be my favourite club in London and I would come here a few times a month for years. Sadly, over the last couple of years, and since the refurbishment, it has gone very downhill.

    1. The refurbishment has actually made the place worse. There is less space, the hallway leading to the toilets is confusing, you're not allowed on the stage and the cloakroom is at the bottom of the entry stairs which makes no sense when it's busy.
    2. The manager is very rude. Recently a group of us were given wristbands for free entry before 11pm. When we tried to go in we were told it was £10 entry (despite it normally only being 5/7) and it was only free before 10.30pm, with the receptionist and security being argumentative. I was told to speak to the manager, who refused to walk the 10 metres to the entrance from where he was standing. He refused to acknowledge me or look me in the eye and only spoke to me via one of the bouncers. Thankfully as everyone else also complained he rudely stated 'just let them in'.
    3. One of my friends was wearing an England shirt and was told he could not come in due to a no sportswear policy . A friend had a spare top that he lent him and we were let in. Then five minutes later two people wearing England flags were allowed in and 20 minutes after that someone in an England shirt was allowed in. Hypocrites.
    4. Also, despite being one of the busiest nights of the year (Pride), when we got in we discovered it was cash only. No-one on the door or the front desk had bothered to tell anybody.
    5. The DJ is very arrogant and told my friends to 'get off the stage' when they went to politely make a request. Then a pretty girl got on the stage and was allowed to stand next to him. Double standards.

Beforehand, despite the grimy toilets, it was much better. The bar staff were sometimes miserable, the management once forgot to add my friends to a guest list for a birthday party there and the DJ once refused to play R.E.M saying 'we don't play that here' (despite a framed photo of them being displayed upstairs), but in five years that was all. Now it has sadly become a very unfriendly and hypocritical place.

Bit too fancy for me (i preferred when it was a bit dingy) since the makeover. Prices went up with it but this said it's still a decent venue with decent sound. When it's sold out though you risk having an impaired view due to the big pillar in front of the stage. I assume it's load bearing so it's not really their fault.

Excellent music venue which has been renovated recently. Great sound and set up. Always has a quality line-up of unique bands. Good selection of beers and other drinks on the bar. Everything is well kept including the bar, the seating area and most importantly the toilets which are always super clean. This is one of my all time favourite music venues in London. Highly recommended.

Wow, the bar is now amazing. Very swanky looking, more like a 5 star hotel's swanky bar than something for a gig venue. Saw a gig there recently and just drank cocktails all evening - was a great experience! Good bar staff. Really good job on the decor. Good sound system and stage. Great venue.

General small town bar. Not a fan of the food, drinks are fine. This place feels dirty to me.
